Hi there. I'm Emily director of communications at Loom, whether you're a manager of a large team, one direct report, or maybe you're providing feedback to a bunch of cross-functional teammates, communicating that feedback clearly and efficiently is a critical ingredient for getting work done and collaborating with your team often in our work today, though, we're delivering that feedback via virtual means.

So maybe it's a quick Slack message or a comment left on the project directly. And if you're like me, that feedback can feel a little nerve-wracking for a couple of reasons.

The first is tone. What if my tone is misconstrued? So sometimes I'm moving really fast and my typed message can come across really terse or even rude.

This is a great example of me going way too fast and leaving a comment that just really doesn't really convey much and can be taken the wrong way.

The second reason is wasted time. So this is an example, maybe an exaggerated example of me giving kind of rambling feedback on something, because it's super nuanced or maybe it's complex, maybe it's writing or something creative.

And this might require the recipient to still book live time on my calendar, just to understand what I'm actually trying to say to them, which ends up wasting my time and theirs.

So using Loom to deliver feedback is one of my personal favorite use cases. For one, I can deliver feedback with both the project in question as well as my face and voice in the recording to make sure I'm being as clear as possible.

Even if the feedback is complex or nuanced, I can also personalize it and show my facial expressions to ensure the right tone comes across and I can make finishing touches like adding a link to the document we're working on, or even adding chapters in the comments to make the loom easier to navigate and for them to refer back to in the future, if you want to learn more about using Loom to provide faster, clearer, and more engaging feedback at work, check out our recent blog.

Thanks.
