💡Intro to Generative AI: The Artist in the World of AI 🤖

2 mins

This brief video provides an overview of generative AI. It covers the fundamental concepts, its applications, and how it works. The video was made in under an hour using several AI tools: GPT-4 for script generation ElevenLabs for AI Voice-over D-ID for creating the video of the narrator Stable Diffusion for image generation Kaiber AI for creating cartoon transformations of the narrator RunwayML for editing the video Here are some resources to help you understand Generative AI as a whole: Inside My Head: This Substack run by technologist Linus Ekenstam features a host of useful AI-related material, covering tutorials on getting the optimum results from these tools and crafting the smartest prompts, as well as news on the latest happenings in the world of AI1. Towards AI: This is a one-stop online shop for all your generative AI needs, offering news, opinion, tutorials, a busy online community, and more. The site covers tools to help you get more out of AI, offers interviews with engineers working in the field, and also has an email newsletter you can sign up to1. The AI Podcast: This podcast from Nvidia drops episodes every fortnight and covers every aspect of artificial intelligence, including generative AI. Each week there's a special guest from a different organization in the field of AI, making it an engaging and thought-provoking resource for expanding your AI knowledge1. Visually AI: Another Substack resource from creator Heather Cooper that tells you what's out there in terms of generative AI tools and helps you make the most of them. There's already an AI toolkit you can download and an ethics discussion, although some posts are locked behind a paywall1. GPT for Educators: This is an online course that covers how to integrate generative AI into the classroom, how it can be used to support and help students, and what some of the challenges and ethical concerns are about this revolutionary tech1. Additionally, there are a wide variety of Generative AI Courses available on Udemy that cover just about every use of generative AI you can think of, from marketing to coding to ecommerce, for different experience levels1. Finally, Gradient Ascent on Substack is another resource packed with tips, news, and discussion around generative AI. It's a little more high level than some other resources, so it's a good place to go once you've mastered the basics1.

Alright, first off, this is not actually a human talking, how can you tell? I am a lot easier to understand.

My words are clearly enunciated and I am not rambling like a madman. I also make really weird noises from time to time.

This video was primarily written by and spoken by AI. I just have a little help from go to CEO Scott and he let me borrow his voice.

I think I wear it better honestly. Anyway, let's talk about generative AI. It's this fantastic type of AI that's all about making new and original content without needing human help.

Using AI often in the form of neural networks, we'll explain that in more detail later. It looks at existing data and comes up with fresh content based on what it learns.

It's super versatile and creates things on the fly. You've probably seen it in action with tools like chat GPT. So here's a simple example.

Chat GPT doesn't rely on preset words or phrases. Instead, it creates words in real time based on what you tell it.

And those image generators like mid-Journey, stable diffusion, and dolly too, they don't use preset images either. They make unique images from scratch, similar to having a new fingerprint each time, no tour, ever the same.

Now, this is different from analytical AI, which only analyzes existing data without creating anything new. To make the distinction clear, think of generative AI as the creative artist, while analytical AI is like the art critic.

Generative AI has real life applications like AI generated music and art with tools like support workers do their job as chat bots powered by generative AI.

Can improve communication and customer service. Learning from large data sets of support conversations and handling the easiest ones while supporting agents to achieve better and faster outcomes in complicated cases.

This shows how generative AI can impact our daily lives and work. To sum it up, generative AI creates new content by analyzing data.

It's different from analytical AI, which only analyzes and existing content. Generative AI can impact our daily lives and work through various applications.

As we explore AI in the following videos, we'll dive deeper into these concepts and see how they continue to shape our everyday experiences.

I encourage you to leave comments, ask questions, or share your thoughts about generative AI. Let's create a dialogue and learn together.
